License-free test clients for IVR Visual Voicemail (VVM) are being offered to all mobile operators by Communology

Cologne, Germany; August 17, 2010: Communology, a company specialising in mobile application development, is offering mobile operators license-free test clients for Visual Voicemail (VVM). Companies can use them for internal tests and demos and quickly and effectively ascertain which server configurations are required for implementing VVM services on their networks.

“Existing voicemail services no longer meet the requirements of high-end users, and it comes as no surprise that Visual Voicemail is becoming increasingly popular,” says Communology CEO, Thomas Kähler. “Anyone who has seen VVM on a friend’s iPhone wants to use it as well. Companies can use them for internal tests and demos and quickly and effectively ascertain which server configurations are required for implementing VVM services on their networks.

Cologne, Germany: As a logical extension to the feature set of Visual Voicemail applications, Communology now offers Voice-to-Text (V2T) as part of the mobile client proposition. Voicemail audio files are not only downloaded to the mobile device to be listened and stored locally. In addition, the related text transcription is displayed in a joint user interface. Communology offers the integrated VVM/V2T client for Android and Symbian devices already today with more platforms to come. For the voicemail transcription, Communology is flexible to partner with leading solution providers following mobile operator’s request.

Ubiquitous Service Infrastructure for the Mobile Super Prosumer

Das Ziel des Projekts uService ist die Entwicklung von Werkzeugen und einer Infrastruktur, sodass Endnutzer u.a. mit ihren Handys mobile Dienste für sich und andere Nutzer erstellen können. Dienste, die auf diese Weise von Nutzern für Nutzer erstellt werden, sind typischerweise stark auf einen Anwendungsbereich fokussiert und adressieren jeweils eine bestimmte Zielgruppe. Die Vision des Projekts ist, dass mit den Werkzeugen und der Infrastruktur aus diesem Projekt die bisherigen reinen Konsumenten (Consumer) mobiler Dienste selbst auch zu Produzenten (Producer) und Anbietern (Provider) solcher Dienste werden, sogenannte „mobile Super-Prosumer“. Auf diese Weise wird ein neuartiges, weltumspannendes nutzergetriebenes Netz von dynamischen Diensten und Inhalten entstehen. Aus der Vielfalt der möglichen Anwendungsgebiete untersucht das Projekt den Bereich der individuellen Gesundheitsvorsorge durch Sport, insbesondere Laufen.

So Many Apps and Still No Communication!?!?

 

In the NY Times, I found an article called "A Conference Keen on Finding Open Communication". Basically what this article is talking about is the competition between mobile softwares. 

For most carriers the mobile Web is fractured and not developed to its full capacity in order for people to do what they want on the web. But the iPhone on the other hand has a lucrative app market, making other companies wanting to mimic them. Last year $4.2 billion were sold in iPhone applications. Apple made $1 billion in 2009. This year Apple is expected to rise to 62%, $6.8 billion.

"Most operators are selling the same phones for roughly the same price. They seek unique applications for differentiation, but it has frgamented the market," says Thomas Kaehler, founder of Communology, mobile appl developer in Germany.
